CHIUSI LAKE (yes)

CONTACTS

Lake Chiusi is a lake located in the Val di Chiana near Siena. It is a resting and nesting area for many migratory birds, such as the little egret, the purple heron, the osprey, and the black-winged stilt, making it a perfect spot for birdwatching enthusiasts.

Lake Chiusi is a real mosaic of naturalistic, historical, tourist and culinary attractions which allow you to enjoy one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany in complete tranquility.

Also of great interest are the surroundings of Lake Chiusi where there are pretty and characteristic villages, first of all the ancient city of Chiusi, which has received the Touring Club's Orange Flag award and is considered by Roman sources to be one of the first and most important Etruscan cities. The immediate vicinity of Chiusi, in the heart of the Sienese Val di Chiana, is characterized by the sites the Etruscans reserved for their burials, which occupy the hills surrounding the current town. Here, in the cultivated countryside and woods, over a thousand tombs were unearthed over the centuries, especially in the 19th century, such as the Tomb of the Lion, the Tomb of the Pilgrim, and the famous Tomb of the Monkey. The necropolis It is located not far from Lake Chiusi, a bright body of water perfect for walks, combining historical and natural beauty.
